Exporting Tracks Ready for Mixing/Mastering
To ensure we get the best out of your tracks, please follow the instructions in this document on how to export your pre-masters/stems properly. To find the relevant information, please navigate to your DAW of choice using the tabs below.
Ableton Live
Mastering:
- Turn off any limiting applied to the master bus.
- Ensure the master bus meter does not exceed 0dB (redline) at any point in the track. If redlining is occurring, select all channels and reduce gain until the meter is no longer red.
- In the arrangement, create a selection region beginning one bar before the track begins to one bar after it ends (listen out for reverb tails and long release times on instrument channels), and create a loop.
- Go to File → Export Audio/Video and copy the settings shown below.

- ***DO NOT COPY "RENDER START" AND "RENDER LENGTH" SETTINGS FROM THIS SCREENSHOT***
- Choose a location on your harddrive to save the Wav file, and export.
- Go to https://wetransfer.com/ and send us the file at mastering@bloxe.art, or send us a link in the discord ticket!
Mixing:
Exporting stems for mixing can take up a lot of storage space, please check to make sure you have adequate space on your computer before continuing.
- Ensure every individual channel in the project is NOT exceeding 0dB on its meter. If some channels are passing 0dB, select all channels and turn down gain.
- Go to File → Collect All and Save, ensure all boxes are set to YES
- Navigate to the saved project folder and create a new folder inside the project folder and call it "Stems".

- Select the "Stems" folder you created earlier, and export.
- Once all files have been bounced, compress the "Stems" folder into a Zip file (if on Mac OS) or a compressed folder (if on Windows).
- Go to https://wetransfer.com/ and send us the file at mastering@bloxe.art, or send us a link in the discord ticket!
